Circa 500-490 BC. AR drachm, 6.16 gr., 14.3 mm.
Obv: protome of a roaring lion to the right.
Rev: head of Aphrodite to the right, wearing taenia; all within incuse square.
Ref: Cahn 49 (V27/R38). SNG Copenhagen 215 (same dies).
A lovely piece of beautiful Archaic style. Obverse struck from the usual worn die. Very fine.
