Obv: head of Athena to the right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with Scylla scanning; Φbefore helmet.

Rev: ΘΟΥΡΙΩΝ; bull butting to the left, Φon rump, bird between bull’s legs; in exergue: fish to the left.

Ref: ANS 948. Acquired privately from Tradart, Geneva, in the 1980’s; ex the BruSale 6 (2011), lot 69.

Attractive old cabinet tone. Choice very fine.

A masterpiece of superb classical style, signed by the master-engraver Phrygillos.
