First Meris, Amphipolis. Circa 167-149 BC. AR tetradrachm. 16.86 gr., 31 mm.
Obv.: diademed, draped bust of Artemis to the right, bow and quiver at shoulder; all within tondo of Macedonian shield.
Rev.: ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΩΝ ΠΡΩΤΗΣ above and below horizontal club, above and below: monograms; all within oak wreath tied at left; in outer left field: thunderbolt.
